Important instructions

Health Guidelines for COVID-pandemic in Kainuu region

High risk of COVID19 infection is: 

  • With non-vaccinated people
  • When travelling abroad
  • In occasions and events with large crowds
  • If precautions are neglected

To mimimize the risk of infections follow instructions: 

  • Keep at least 2 metres of safety distance with other people or wear a face mask!
  • Obtain proper hand hygiene!
  • Avoid large crowds!
  • Get tested if you have symptoms referred to corona disease

Be aware when travelling or even in short term activities:

  • Mimimize contacts, keep your groups as small as possible!
  • Take good care of cleaning and disinfecting the surfaces!
  • Note special risk with apartments, other spaces or vehicles in common use even with short term use

Follow the Officials’ orders:

  • COVID testing when entering to Finland is obligatory, if ordered. You must follow the given orders.
  • If you’re ordered to isolation or quarantine, it is not voluntary. You must follow the given orders.
  • Breaching the Health Act is prohibited. You may be punished by the Finnish law.

How to get tes­ted in Kai­nuu?

1. Wear a face mask and mimimize contacts with other people

2. Call +358 40 165 0020 to book a test ap­point­ment (this number is only for booking COVID test; not a medical help line) – You will be reached after your call.

Test re­sult is in­for­med by text mes­sa­ge (SMS) - plea­se check your mo­bi­le num­ber when boo­king the test! Tes­ting is free of char­ge (in ar­ri­val test or acu­te ill­ness). 

3. Go to accommodation and stay!

- After the test go back to your accommodation, nowhere else. Wear a face mask!

- Wait until you get the result!

-  If you’re exposed to virus, avoid close contacts even if your test is negative

How to prevent spreading coronavirus

Everyone can slow down the spread of coronavirus with their own actions. In everyday life you can reduce infection risk by

  • following good hand, coughing and sneezing hygiene
  • keeping a safety distance of at least 1 to 2 metres from other people
  • wearing a face mask if you cannot keep a safe distance from others
  • getting tested, if you have any symptoms  that suggest a  coronavirus infection.

Reduce close contacts!

Reducing close contact is now also important for healthy people, as this slows down the spread of the  epidemic.

  • When you are outdoors, stay at least 1 - 2 metres away from others.
  • If you cannot keep a safe distance from others, wear a facemask.
  • Avoid shaking hands.
  • Work remotely, if possible.

What to do if you sus­pect ha­ving cont­rac­ted the co­ro­na­vi­rus

  1. Call
  • Kainuu central hospital 116 117 or  +358 40 165 0020 (or +358 8 6156 6000, only land line)
  • Medical Helpline serves in Finnish and English

(call  112 only if in urgent or life threatening situation)

  1. Have a COVID-19 test
  • In Kainuu Central Hospital or local Health Centre
  • After the test go home, nowhere else.
  1. Wait at home until you get the result!

In ad­di­tion to te­lep­ho­ning, coun­se­ling is now avai­lab­le via SMS on 050 902 0163. Telephone consultation is available on week­days from 8 am to 9 pm and Sa­tur­days from 9 am to 3 pm.

Если у вас есть какие-либо вопросы о коронавирусе, позвоните в справочную службу Министерства социального обеспечения и здравоохранения по номеру: 0295 535 535. В дополнение к телефонной связи теперь доступны консультации по СМС на номер 050 902 0163. Консультация открыта по будним дням с 8 до 21 ч, по субботам с 9 до 15 ч.
